Meet the Singers

Ruby has been singing with Good Company for about 10 years now, singing alto with a great bunch of girls. She is a teacher in a secondary school in Walsall, and has three grown up children and one grandson. She loves singing with GC because it gives her the chance to sing all those brilliant popular songs that everyone knows and can sing along to - from The Beatles to Irving Berlin, from Abba to Leonard Bernstein - it's great fun. She is currently the chairperson for GC and is proud to be part of such a friendly welcoming group of people.

Lesley is married with 2 children and has worked in banking and the fashion industry. She is currently a P.A. and joined Good Company in 2004. Interests include; a passion for all types of music, golf, bridge, fashion, antiques and cookery. She has sung with choirs and choral groups, been a backing vocalist and appeared several times on television.

Sam Dewally has been singing for 25 years and enjoys a mix of genres, from choral to country. After singing for the German Society at Leeds University and leading the choir, Sam hit Europe in the early Nineties, organised concerts in France for Rugeley Power Station Brass Band and arranged and sang backing vocals with the Coburg (Germany) Rhythm and Blues Band BIG FISH on their CD Cosmic Limousine in 1997. After a break of 5 years, Sam joined GC in February 2004 and can be found practising loudly whilst running across Cannock Chase, as often as her three small children allow. Sam also runs the KS2 choir at West Hill Primary School in Hednesford.

Rosemarie has been a member of the group for 20 years, joining during the summer of 1986, as a 2nd soprano. She enjoys singing the different variety of music in the repertoire which is always changing. Rehearsals are an important factor too, with never a dull moment. Over the past few years she has taken on the role of Hon. Secretary and is a serving member of the GC Committee, which meets once a month.

Robyn is the token American from L.A. originally, married with two children. She loves all forms of music and besides G.C. she sings with Sutton Chamber Choir. She also sings as a backing singer for an Elvis tribute band and sings and acts with Trinity Players. She plays golf, tennis and volunteers for the Lichfield Open Door project. She also enjoys walking her dog, Oscar in the park.

Before University, Chris sang with a number of choirs in his home county, Yorkshire, but since then he has done little singing except with choirs specifically formed to perform at certain times of the year such as Easter and Christmas. That wass until he was invited along to rehearsal by one of the younger members of Good Company in October 2004. He was immediately struck by the professionalism of the group and the friendly (never barbed!!) badinage during rehearsals and became an immediate convert. Not having had the operation he sings in the bass section of the choir and enjoys the range of music they cover and shares their enjoyment with others at the concerts given. One downside of rehearsals is that afterwards he has to accompany one of the older members of the choir to a local hostelry only because his wife has asked him to keep an eye on him. We all have crosses to bear! He is married with two grown up daughters and a Jack Russell who is the only one who understands him! We hope that he will keep singing at least until he retires.

Jackie has been a memeber of Good Company for about 8 years, having previously sung with various choirs and choral workshops within the Staffordshire area. Good Company performs the variety of music that Jackies enjoys. When not singing, she works full time as an antecedants officer for Staffordshire Police. Other hobbies include gardening and going to as many musical concerts she can get tickets for!
